Random Fact

I will refuse to live in any neighborhood where I will have to pay homeowners fees.

That comes from a childhood vendetta I’ve had against my old neighborhood’s homeowners association.

They tried to stifle my wild-child tomboy spirit.

(No really, all I did was climb trees and they kept yelling at me not to… and one time the stupid wife of the president told me she’d sue me if I ever fell, which makes absolutely no sense. I’m sure it was a scare tactic but I hated her. I mean I was 10. No 10yr-old kid wants to get sued… or go to jail!)

(Ok, and one time I helped my neighbor build this awesome tree fort/obstacle course in the woods, that was not in direct view from the street, but the HOA told us it was ugly and distracting and made us take it down. I then spent the consequent weeks planning booby traps around the obstacle course, one of which was a muddy moat that would sink all trespassers who dared to enter the premises. Alas, my neighbor’s dad ended up taking apart the fort. I think he might have been an HOA board member…)

(Alright fine, if the neighborhood looks nice, isn’t overrun by tall grass/weeds, and the HOA fees aren’t exorbitantly high, then I may reconsider…)

Mom: He's got a fever.
Dad: (in the background) I'M FINE!!
Mom: I just need you to come home and take care of him while I'm at work.
Me: Really? It's just a fever! He can take care of himself!
Mom: No, I'm afraid he's gonna randomly leave the house and get into some trouble.
Me: Seriously mom? You just want to see me don't you?
Mom: Maybe...
